Construction of factories: designing

The construction of factories, like other facilities, begins with the design. Engineering refers to the design of low-cost factories based on available information sources, scientific data and existing prototypes. Technical design is understood as the development of a feasibility study, compilation of a consolidated budget, etc. It allows us to make a preliminary  assessment of the feasibility of locating and building a factory , as well as selecting a land plot. In addition, with technical design, the solution to the most difficult problems associated with the construction and further operation of the factory is planned. It is connected with the definition of possible technical and economic indicators of the object.

Working design refers to the development of the project at the stage where there are working drawings and the corresponding estimate documentation. It is based on the schedule for the customer to receive design estimates. The volume of construction and installation, as well as a consolidated schedule of construction work, which includes the necessary investment, construction materials and labor. In coordination of the schedule for the issue of drawings, the customer, the general contractor, as well as subcontracting design and construction organizations take part.

As for the design assignment, it is the customer who makes it. The task is given with an indication of the name of the enterprise, the grounds for design, the kind of construction work, the district, the point and the site where construction will be carried out. It is also required to specify the product range, the mode of operation of the future factory, the amount of capital investment, the planned construction period, etc.
