Warehouse construction: design

Warehouse construction: design

It is quite difficult to design the construction of warehouses. In this case, design is a multi-level process, requiring the participation of qualified professionals. It is important to understand that, in addition to the architectural and construction component, much attention is paid in such projects to problems of logistics.

With optimal design, the  warehouse complex  quickly and qualitatively provides both reception and shipment of products. As for the layout of the goods, then, being properly designed, it fully corresponds to the functions of their storage and transportation inside the warehouse. Modern equipment should not be idle, reducing the peak capacity of the warehouse. Much depends on whether the project provides for an automated accounting system (wms) that manages the warehouse complex.

During the preparatory phase of the project, the planned flow of goods is analyzed, and data is collected, and a technical task is formed. The latter includes two stages associated with technological (logistic) and architectural and construction design.

Technological design is aimed at developing an optimal technological scheme for the operation of storage facilities, based on information about planned cargo flows.

Architectural and construction design implements the volume-planning solutions required for the future warehouse operation, and also ensures the reliability, safety and economy of the necessary storage facilities.

In the process of developing solutions suitable for high-quality operation of a modern warehouse complex, it is advisable to use simulation modeling that determines the best conditions and optimal parameters for the functioning of the warehouse.
